About WhatHypno

Why we built it

A clearer way to choose a hypnotherapist

For 20 years we've built websites for UK therapists, hypnotherapists among them, and met many excellent practitioners who are hard to find online.

Choosing a hypnotherapist is a personal decision, yet the information available is often thin, and "hypnotherapist" isn't a protected title in the UK, so the title alone doesn't tell you who's registered.

WhatHypno is our answer. We check each hypnotherapist's professional registration and insurance ourselves and show you the dates, with fees, session formats and availability laid out the same way on every profile. It's run by Truly Empowered Ltd.

The WhatHypno team

Independent.

WhatHypno is owned and run by Truly Empowered Ltd. It isn't owned by, affiliated with or endorsed by any professional body, training provider, insurer, charity or the NHS. We look up register entries because that's evidence you can check yourself, not because of any relationship.

A comparison site with real checking underneath.

We check registration and insurance, publish the dates and let you compare fairly. We aren't a professional body and we don't train anyone.

Funded by the hypnotherapists we list.

Hypnotherapists pay a published monthly fee, plus an optional fee for Featured placement, which is always labelled. Searching will be free when public search opens. We don't sell data, and we take no commission on anyone's sessions.

Clear about limits.

A check here means a register entry and insurance evidence reviewed on the dates shown. It isn't a guarantee of suitability or results, and we label what hypnotherapists tell us as theirs.

Plain information.

No success rates and no promised outcomes, on any profile or page.

Our standards and policies.

Free for anyone looking for a hypnotherapist

When public search opens, searching and reading profiles will be free, with no account needed. You can preview the directory today, and the Check a Hypnotherapist tool is free to use now. We can't give medical advice or crisis support. If you need urgent help, call 999 in an emergency, or contact the Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night.
