The independent UK hypnotherapy directory
What hypnotherapist should I see?
Compare fees, session options and when registration and insurance were last checked.
Why checking matters
Know what has been checked before you book.
We check each listed hypnotherapist's professional registration and current insurance before publication. Their profile shows the dates and links to the register record.
Compare these checked facts with the fees and practice details they provide, then decide who to contact.
Our approach
The standard behind every listing
-
Registration checked. We check each hypnotherapist's CNHC, National Hypnotherapy Society or NCH entry, grade and the work it covers, and show the date.
-
Insurance reviewed. We read their current insurance, check it covers the work they advertise, and record when it expires.
-
Kept current. We recheck registration at least once a year, and hide a profile if registration or insurance lapses.
-
Independent. Not owned by a professional body, training provider or insurer, and we never take a cut of your sessions.
These checks confirm registration and insurance on the dates shown. Finding the right hypnotherapist is a personal choice, so a short conversation before you book is a good idea. Read our verification standard.
Before you get in touch
The practical details, side by side
Choosing a hypnotherapist is personal. Each profile puts the facts you need near the top, so you can compare a few people before deciding who to contact.
- Session fees and length
- In person, online and practice locations
- New-client availability and last confirmation
- Working hours, languages and access
- Dated registration and insurance checks
What people come for
Whatever brings you here, start with someone checked
Each hypnotherapist lists the areas they work with. Compare their approach, fees and checks, then ask them how they'd work with you. For symptoms that worry you or won't go away, it's worth speaking to your GP first.
Anxiety and stress
Compare hypnotherapists who say they work with anxiety and stress, and ask how they would work with you alongside any care from your GP. When public search opens, you'll also be able to search for fears, or for exam and performance nerves.
Sleep problems
Some people turn to hypnotherapy when getting to sleep, or staying asleep, has become hard. Ask how sessions would be structured and what you might practise between them. If poor sleep carries on, it's worth speaking to your GP.
Confidence
Whether it's speaking up at work or facing something new, compare how each hypnotherapist describes their approach.
Stopping smoking
Hypnotherapy is one of the approaches people try when they want to stop smoking. Be wary of anyone who quotes a success rate, and ask what support they offer between sessions.
Questions about choosing a hypnotherapist
Short answers about hypnotherapy, our checks and using WhatHypno.
Who can call themselves a hypnotherapist?
"Hypnotherapist" isn't a protected title in the UK. Every hypnotherapist listed here has an accepted professional registration, and we check their entry and their insurance.
What does "registration checked" mean?
It means we found their entry on an accepted professional register on the date shown and checked their grade. We check it again at least once a year.
How do I decide who to contact?
Each profile shows the areas a hypnotherapist works with, their fees and how they offer sessions. You can ask them about your needs before you book.
Does sending an enquiry book an appointment?
No. It sends your message to the hypnotherapist so you can talk about the next step.

We can't give medical advice or crisis support. If you need urgent help, call 999 in an emergency, or contact the Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night.
Already have a hypnotherapist in mind?
Look them up in seconds. If they're listed here, you'll see their register entry and the dates we checked their registration and insurance. If they're not, we'll show you what to ask them instead.
